Chick-fil-A will build a distribution and warehouse facility in Lubbock, with construction scheduled to start in May and helped by more than $3 million for incentives, according to public records, LubbockLights.com has confirmed.
Lubbock offered an incentive under the name “Project Ranger” to a company called Supply Properties III, LLC. Tax records tied the company name to Chick-fil-A.
Chick-fil-A has not yet responded to our request by phone and email for comment.

Certain projects in Texas must register with TDLR to make sure they are compliant with accessibility standards such as the Americans with Disabilities Act. In September, the project was estimated at $50 million. When it was registered with the state, the estimate was listed as $46 million.
The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) declined an invitation to comment. However, after this story was published, LEDA issued a press release which is republished below.
Certain information was provided to the Lubbock City Council in September so local incentives could be approved.
LEDA donated “approximately 14 acres” of land in the Lubbock Business Park with the deed transfer on March 10. (Property tax records listed it as 15 acres.) LEDA stipulated the land value at $1.95 million.
LEDA with City Council approval also agreed to provide:
- Up to $400,000 for job creation over five years ($5,000 per job)
- $1.2 million reimbursement for project costs over three years
LubbockLights.com added together those numbers (incentive, reimbursement and land value) and found LEDA’s total package is $3.55 million. Official records said LEDA may reduce the incentive by $80,000 for every $1 million of capital investment below $40 million.

The Chick-fil-A distribution center will create an estimated 80 new full-time jobs, according to a document provided to the City Council last year.
“The 80 workers directly employed by the project will earn approximately $60,000 per year on average over the next 10 years,” the document said.
Those jobs will indirectly support an additional 60 jobs in the community, which are also estimated to pay $60,000 per year.
“The total additional payroll or workers’ earnings associated with the project is estimated to be approximately $89.6 million over the next 10 years,” the Council’s briefing document also claimed.
And the distribution center will bring $31 million of taxable sales to the community in the next 10 years.
An online trade partner invitation from Brasfield & Gorrie claimed it’s the general contractor.
Brasfield & Gorrie described the distribution center itself as more than 75,000 square feet, for a cold dock, rail dock, cooler, freezer, dry storage and office space – plus another 11,000 square feet of support buildings for vehicles and a guard shack.
The documents acquired by LubbockLights.com did not disclose how much of Texas the distribution center would cover. The Chick-fil-A website showed 11 locations for a search of zip code 79423 – which includes the mall and the Texas Tech campus. But a search of the website for the West Texas region including Amarillo and Midland/Odessa showed more than 40 locations.

Chick-fil-A Supply planning $50-million capital investment in Lubbock through new distribution center
March 18
LUBBOCK, Texas — Chick-fil-A Supply is planning a major investment in Lubbock with the construction of a new tri-temperature distribution center located in the Lubbock Business Park, a project that is expected to bring $50 million in capital investment and create approximately 80 new jobs in the region.
The facility will serve as a key part of Chick-fil-A’s growing supply chain and will store and distribute food and related products in controlled environments—cool, freezer, and dry—to its vast network of restaurants. Lubbock was selected due to its strategic location and logistical advantages, enabling efficient service across the region.
“We are looking forward to establishing our newest distribution center in Lubbock, and we are grateful to Mayor McBrayer, the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, and all of our Lubbock community partners who have welcomed us and worked tirelessly to make this happen,” said Dan Marques, Senior Director for Chick-fil-A Supply Operations. “Lubbock provides access to quality talent and strategic advantages that allow us to better serve the needs of our Owner-Operators and Restaurants in the region, and we are excited about our investment into this community.”
The new facility is expected to be located near Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport, positioning it strategically for transportation and logistics. The development reflects the company’s continued expansion of its distribution network and commitment to strengthening its infrastructure to meet increasing demand for its growing restaurant footprint.
Jobs created at the facility, with an average wage of approximately $60,000 annually over the next ten years, will span a variety of roles, including warehouse operations, logistics, and transportation.
“We are excited to welcome Chick-fil-A Supply to Lubbock,” said Mayor Mark McBrayer. “Their commitment to community and strong company values align well with the values we prioritize as a city. This investment will create long-term opportunities for families across our great community.”
“We’re proud to help bring an industry-leading company like Chick-fil-A Supply to Lubbock in a way that benefits our entire community, drives new investment, creates new jobs, and further establishes Lubbock as a distribution and logistics hub,” said John Osborne, President & CEO, Lubbock Economic Development Alliance. “This is the kind of partnership that strengthens our city for years to come.”
“Chick-Fil-A Supply’s investment is especially meaningful for District 1 but will provide opportunities for the Lubbock community as a whole,” said Councilwoman Christy Martinez-Garcia, District 1. “This project brings valuable jobs to our residents with competitive wages, an exceptional company culture, and I’m proud to welcome them to the Lubbock community.”
Construction is set to begin in May 2026.
