A community calendar is one of those ideas. Take a look.
Well, we’re trying one for a month and would appreciate your feedback.
The calendar is powered by a company using technology to scrape events from various sources in our community. That’s nice, because I know from my decades in the newspaper business, it’s a labor-intensive job that our tiny newsroom does not have time to do.
They’ve given it to us for a month because they’re doing a beta test on the connected advertising platform. A company can put an ad on the site and people can also spend a few dollars to boost their event on the calendar.
Organizations can also fill out a form to propose an event, which we will review before approval.
You can also subscribe to the calendar and get email updates about events.
