How many years with the department: 27 … before that he started serving with the Woodrow Volunteer Fire Department in 1995. He now has more than three decades of combined fire and emergency service experience.
Roles: Beyond his role on the front lines, Brett has made an impact in leadership, education and public safety across the region. He’s a respected instructor and subject matter expert with the Texas Engineering Extension Service, helping train and mentor the next generation of emergency responders. His also serves as an instructor with the Wolfforth Fire Academy and as inspector with the Texas Tech University Fire Marshal’s Office.
Honors/highlights: Brett was recently recognized as the 2025 ServPro First Responder of the Year, an honor highlighting his commitment to excellence and service in the Lubbock area.
Community involvement beyond work: He serves as the president of Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, where he continues his commitment to serving families and the community.
