Why did you choose this profession? Choosing this profession was not a single moment decision, but the result of several experiences that shaped my path. In third grade, while I was attending Shallowater Intermediate, we had a career day. A Texas Ranger gave a presentation that left an impression on me. He spoke about integrity, courage and the importance of protecting others. It was the first time I truly saw law enforcement as something I wanted to be a part of. Later on, I had the opportunity to have a mentor from First Baptist Shallowater’s youth group. He invested in me during a critical time in my life and had a tremendous impact on who I am today. He showed me what it means to lead with character and to serve others selflessly. His guidance affirmed that this was the kind of career I wanted to pursue. Lastly, I have always had the want to drive fast and to chase bad guys. This profession combines many of the things I enjoy while allowing me to make a real difference in my community. These experiences have shaped my decision and strengthened my commitment to serve and protect as a Texas State Trooper.
How do you deal with stressful situations? Experience has taught me to stay composed under pressure. Clear communication, preparation and teamwork make stressful situations manageable. Staying calm helps others stay calm.
Hobbies & interests: Activities with my family, watching football and working out.
Community involvement beyond work: Outside of my duties as a State Trooper, I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting my community by being a good neighbor and staying involved in local events whenever I can.
